How to Build a Funnel
Here are five easy-to-do steps that help you set up your first email marketing sales funnel.
1. Choose an Email Marketing Platform
Though Mailchimp can help send many emails together and build your mailing list, it is counterintuitive while doing something advanced like automation.
On the other hand, ConvertKit helps you build a working automated email funnel.
2. Set Up the Lead Generation Form
Once the email marketing platform is selected, set up a lead generation form. You will be able to collect all the details you need from your visitors then, from their names to their email address. You could then use this email address to send them promotional emails later on, as well as events about your company. It is what will drive in brand recognition, and ensure that you build an email customer base which converts.
In order to create lead generation form in ConvertKit, login and select “+Creat Form”, from the “Forms” Tab, shown in the first page after logging in..
You will be provided with options to create two types of forms. Say, for example, you took “A Form” option.
You have to then choose the style for the form, like “naked” for example.
The form’s fields and colour of the text, accent, and button can be customised.
Now go to “SETTINGS”, give a name for your form and save it.
3. Build the First Sequence
Now, we have to create a “Sequence” for that form. It’s the emails you will send to a subscriber depending on the date they have subscribed. You can use it to give people the push to complete purchasing a product or offer coupons to help drive more sales. It forms the backbone of your email funnel.
In ConvertKit, go to “Sequences” in the top menu and select “+Create Sequence”.
Create a relevant name for the sequence.
You will be redirected to the ConvertKit’s Sequence Dashboard. ConvertKit would have already populated your sequence with a template. These templates can be used to build the email funnel sequence.
When you are satisfied with the email sequences created, mark the email as “Published” using the drop-down menu next to “Email Status” and then click “Save All’ button.
4. Now, You Need to Have the Form Connected to the Email Funnel Sequence
Now that both the form and email marketing sales funnel has been set up, they have to be connected.
Go back to the form you created earlier by clicking the blue “Forms” button from the top menu, and select your form.
Go to “SETTINGS” tab, below the blue top menu.
From the drop-down list under “Sequence Settings” section, select the email sequence you created.
Then click on the “Save Form” button.
The form has been linked to your email funnel sequence. Once the new subscribers have successfully signed up to your form, they will automatically begin the sequence for themselves.
5. Look to Put Up the Form in the Website
The email funnel sequence has been set up and linked to the form. Now it has to be embedded onto your website to start generating leads.
Select the “Embed” tab from the setting page used in step 4.
Done setting up. What next?
Attracting subscribers is easy, retaining them is tough. Just don’t go radio silent once they become your subscribers. Don’t let the relationship go stale.
